High Blantyre HyperCyber

Located on High Blantyre Main Street, Hyper Cyber is a youth project which offers local young people the chance to try different activities.

Young people are always in control of what happens in their project. Luckily, they're not on their own! They do it all with the help of the staff and volunteers who support them through it all and organise as much training as possible!

With the help of some outside agencies we provide first aid training, peer education and youth skills, all going towards earning our young people awards like Dynamic Youth and Youth Achievement. This is the equivalent to the SQA qualifications that you
'd get in school!

Of course with all that hard work sometimes you just need a place to chill out so we make sure to have some down time too to give our members time to enjoy all of our great facilities. We have Playstation
's, Nintendo Wii's, Xbox and a plasma television with a quality surround sound system, as well as Apple Mac computers with internet connection and all the software for music and video editing.

Although we
're called an internet cafe, we do much much more than I.T. We regularly do activities like arts and crafts, drama, outdoor activities, girls and boys groups, healthy lifestyle workshops, trips and residentials. We try to keep our activities as different as possible to let our young people experience new things they might not otherwise try, like Gorge walking, Wall climbing, Skateboarding, Circus Skills, Basketball, Skiing and Mountain boarding, as well as teaming up with other projects to do things like Street dance and Samba drumming. And that's not all! Anyone in the project can suggest activities for us to do and if we possibly can we always will!

It's not all about us though and we do our best to stay as involved in the community as we can! Each year with our partner the Larkfield Youth Project we organise the High Blantyre Summer Fun Day to bring the community together. Each year the event has grown and this year was no exception with even more fun things to do and see.
