Regenfx Youth Trust and their Partners have managed yet again to deliver a comprehensive programme of Youth Diversion Activities for young people throughout South Lanarkshire. This has not been easy to achieve with reduced funding, however we have endeavored to maintain our high quality standard on service delivery and continue to put our young peoples needs first.
What the Regen:fx Youth Diversion Programme achieved in 2009/10
11,600 young people participated in the Youth Diversion Programme overall.4300 young people took part in additional School Holiday Programmes.
3400 young people participated in Sport and Dance Programmes.
1100 young people learned to Skateboard, BMX and In-line Skate through the Radworx programme.
1040 young people got involved in additional Weekend Diversion Activities that helped reduce youth disorder in communities.
955 young people participated in activities specifically created to Breakdown Territorial Barriers between communities.
490 young people participated in Alcohol, Drug and Sexual Health workshops.
365 young people took part in weekend football.
255 young people experienced The Street Pilot Project that tackled issues on Alcohol Misuse, Bullying, Knife Crime, Teenage Pregnancy, Domestic Violence and Personal Safety
166 young people got involved in Active Citizenship Programmes.
107 young people moved onto Employment and further Education opportunities.
190 young people gained recognised awards i.e. Youth Achievement, Duke of Edinburgh, NGB awards in Sport and Millennium Volunteers.
161 volunteers helped deliver the Youth Diversion Programme.
111 completed our Basic and Advanced Youth Work Training Courses.
90 young people learned to drive instead of drinking alcohol at the weekends.
£138,000 was distributed in Self-Help grants to groups and individuals through our Youth Voice Fund, Weekend Diversion and School Holiday Funds.
All of the different elements that make up the Youth Diversion Programme have effectively contributed in:
Reducing youth disorder in communities
Improving young peoples health
Helping young people into positive destinations
Creating learning opportunities
